We are over the moon!
Just before we start our 3 weeks of rehearsal, we got the amazing news that Becoming Mohammed is going to be funded by Arts Council England! A first little victory, and a great way to start our creative process.

Thank you to all who have advised, supported and helped us with our GFTA Art Council application!

* we know it’s April fools – luckily this is not a joke 😉

Last but definitely not least, we our proud to introduce:


Jack will be playing the role of THOMAS SMIT, a young Western man who changed his life and reverted to Islam – he just hasn’t told his sister yet…
Jack recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in July 2016. Since graduating he has performed in Brad Birch’s En Folkefiende with Squint as well as working with Volcano, The Other Room, Dirty Protest and Theatre Uncut.

In a couple of weeks time Jack will also be looking the part – curious to see his changes? Keep your eye on our website as we’ll be posting pictures and video’s during our rehearsal!

As promised, we are introducing you to our male actors. Today it’s…


Jonah will be playing the role of MUSA ZAMAN.
As a theatre maker and performer he has created work at The Battersea Arts Centre, Royal Court, Barbican and The National Theatre as well as many site-specific venues and has toured the UK as a Performer, Director and Comedian.
He specialises in new writing, comedy, improvisation, immersive/ participatory theatre and devised practices and currently teaches Improvisation at The Actors Centre London. Jonah trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the Webber Douglas Academy.

Jonah will be reporting from the rehearsal room from April, something else to look forward to!

We are very pleased to introduce you to our other actress…


She will be playing the role of AMINAH ZAMAN, the woman Thomas has been introduced to as a potential partner, a strong female character beautifully portrayde by Nadia.
After graduating from East 15, Nadia has performed at the Bush Theatre in Nahda (2015) based on the Arab Spring. She has also worked on Laura Poliakoff’s new piece of writing Birthright performing at both Theatre 503 and the Arcola Theatre. She is a co-founder of theatre company All Good Artists Are Dead. Nadia has just finished filming a feature horror film Dogged by Ash Mountain Films and is in pre-production for her next role in a short film with the same company.
